I carved one of these to donate to an auction and boy did people go nuts for it. The design is so appealing – many people have never seen one – and it really does balance with nearly all wine bottles. (I think the champagne bottle was a little too big though, if I remember correctly) Also, because it is viewed at an angle, if you make any little mistakes, they will not be noticed at all, so it’s kind of a great piece for a beginner. Of course when not holding wine it can be hung on the bar room wall, just don’t place it next to the dart board! P.S. Because it is viewed the way it is, it looks good to carve the edges as well as the face, if you are so inclined.
