I’ve bought a couple of these. My first one got dropped on a hard surface and the disc on the end came off. These work great. If you are transfering a large design you might need to stop and let the iron heat up a little more. Sure beats tracing the patterns.

The tool works well, if you follow the instructions. Not having a laser printer at home I had to head down to a local FedEx Store to print out patterns, but the time saved over tracing graphite paper and tracing is worth it.

There is no better way to transfer a pattern you have designed on a computer and printed on a laser printer. I use this tool on practically every project I have carved. It is quick and simple to use. One word of caution though is to touch the tip to a scrap piece of wood first to protect from burning your project. This will wick away any excess heat.

GREAT PRODUCT! Prior to purchasing the Pattern Transfer tool, I was using my woodburner with a shading tip – what took me an hour to do with the shading tip, I completed in about 15 minutes. Great time saver! Highly recommended – just follow directions!

This really is a great tool. Saves gluing, taping or other pattern transfer methods for wood (on lighter wood of course). Well worth the money. I use for scroll sawing patterns.

It works better than I expected, but it is a slow process and not perfect. But if you take the time it does get the job done, we shall have to see how it lasts in the long term.

Hi Wayne, thanks for your comment. Please make sure the tip is screwed on tightly and the Pattern Transfer Tool has been plugged in for 10 minutes before using. Now you’ll be able to move along quite quickly and find the PTT does an excellent job.

I transfer high quality text and images to my wood projects. This may be as simple as instructions for the wooden puzzle to art work that complements a carved project. The only caution is that for a perfect, crisp transfer the wood needs to have a smooth surface (like paper). I do heat and press a bit more than when just transferring patterns.
People ask where I get such unique rub-on transfers. I can create anything I want with my computer and the Pattern Transfer Tool.
So think outside the box – or maybe even on the outside of your box!
