Are you tired of trying to cut round discs from practice boards? I usually end up with semi round with flats here and there. These are a great item to make Christmas ornaments from without the need for a scroll saw.
I have purchased a total of 13 of these discs: 1 single and then an order of 12. I’m using them as coasters, so true flatness is important. All 13 have required some amount of sanding to allow them to lie flat on a table and with a cup on top. Some only a little, some a fair bit. I’m not sure if this is just a result of natural warping of thin wood pieces, but it was a little disappointing. All I have is sheets of sandpaper and my hands, so truing them to flat is a bit tricky. I also had one in my order of 12 that was decidedly smaller than the others. I’m sure I’ll be able to work around it, but it again stands out when it’s a set of coasters stacked together. It may also require a slight resizing of my pattern designed for the full 4″ discs. I did also find that the edges aren’t all exactly the same bevel all the way around. I’m a bit of a perfectionist, so I sanded those down to even them out too, but that wasn’t much of an issue compared to the issues above. If you’re looking to make these into coasters, be prepared for a little extra work to make them flat and then hope they’re the same size.
Not that bad
