    This is stained basswood (half of a napkin holder from Marty). Compared to similar rosettes I carved in the past, this one has a thin outside ring (which, while challenging to carve, really makes a difference) and two outside branches (I had tried some long leaves in the past).

    Very nice, Andrei – What type of stain did you use to achieve the color on basswood?

    Thank you kindly, Jim. I used a wallnut colored, water based stain.

    oh wow, that looks amazing. Can’t wait till I get the kind of skills you have lol. I am drawing up all kinds of things right now mainly with rosettes and triangles.
