This is the latest carving I did. It’s the optical illusion plate that was in the wood carving illustrated magazine a couple years ago. Once I figured out how to get the pattern on the plate it didnt carve too bad. The first photo is the finished plate before putting the gel stain on it. If I can figure out how this blasted technology works, I want to put a second photo of the plate after the gel stain is put on and some finish. It was a 10 inch plate and I am very pleased with the way it turned out.
