So, I have an issue with getting chips out of my practice board. Every time I cut it comes out in pieces doesn’t matter if against or with the grain. I am wondering if my wood is too dry to carve and if so is there a way to get moisture back into the wood? That is the only thought I have about it. I keep my wood out in the garage where I do practice most times but watching the videos while trying to learn I have to do it in my room. Any suggestions would be helpful.

    Thanks

    Didi

    Hi Didi,

You can increase the moisture content in wood if need be. Go back to the Forums page and you’ll see several posts about “moisture content”. Those will help you.

if you have other questions you can post them there.
