I made three of these stars over the last couple weeks for two new great-nieces and a great nephew as Christmas ornament keepsakes. Each child’s initials and year of birth were carved onto the back of the ornament. After carving, the wood was sealed and a red gel stain added to make it more festive for the kids. Finishing was two coats of a good matte polyurethane.
This was a real fun project that I hope they will enjoy for years to come.
