The design was inspired by an image in a prayer book. The geometric part is complemented by the branches, which illustrate the Cross as Tree of Life. The carving is 10cmx10cm, finished with three coats of satin lacquer.
Very nice. I have carved the Celtic-knot cross and intend to do more crosses. I appreciate the Tree-of-life symbolism and will have to learn/practice the free-form carving. It adds a lot to your image and frames the cross well.
