It’s Thanksgiving in the US in two days. I’ll travel with my family to be with my dad for a couple of days.
This plate will go with me. Not the clearest pattern to photograph but you get the idea. I’ll show you the progress along the way.
What will you chip carve this week?
Rope border & Napkin holder patterns added
Several have asked about having a rope border available. I created the Pattern Wizard file for a rope border. It’s best to have it as PW because you can adapt the size to your project. CLICK HERE for the patterns
The patterns for Napkin Holder with Base are now available. I didn’t mention in the recent E-letter that the Napkin Holder is easily assembled with 4 screws. No glue needed. Look below to see this assembly.
Look below to see what the Napkin Holder patterns look like when they’re carved.

Would you like to take someone’s photograph and carve their image in wood?
Here’s where to go. It’s a free online conversion tool from the creator of Pattern Wizard!
I know you’ll enjoy carving these patterns. The TAT102316 Candle Dish Pattern is one that I created last year but forgot to post. This pattern could also be used on a 6″ plate of almost any style. Also, the Pattern Wizard file makes it easy to resize and change the pattern to whatever project you’re carving.
The cross pattern was shown in the recent E-letter as it was carved by Andre Gotia. It would fit nicely on a 4″ basswood or butternut disc! Glad to share it with you!

Using Pattern Wizard I took the 4×6 cormir frame pattern and converted it to an 8×10 frame.
If you have the PW software I also added the SGP file for this new size pattern. If you don’t have the PW, get it HERE.
This sure is a nice pattern to carve and results in a great frame.

New Pattern Collection Includes Pattern Wizard Files!
This new collection includes 44 of Tatiana’s newest Patterns. Even though these patterns were used on boxes, you can use them on whatever item you wish! And they are even more flexible than earlier patterns because they also include the Pattern Wizard file for each pattern!
If you don’t have the Pattern Wizard software, now is the time!
(Pattern Wizard will work on a Mac when running a virtual PC desktop. I have directions on how to do this.)
